Sleep is so important for your voice. In this video I share how getting enough sleep will strengthen your voice and make you a better speaker.
Today, I want to talk to you about one thing you’re doing to hurt your voice. There are many things you can do that will hurt your voice, but in this video, I want to talk about one major thing and that is not getting enough sleep. Now, look, everybody’s different. Some of us can get by on less sleep. Some of us need more sleep. You know your own body. For me, I need about eight hours of sleep a night, seven, eight hours of sleep. If I start to get less sleep than that, it starts to show up in my voice. My voice gets tired. If I’m really on minimal sleep, let’s say five hours, that voice can start to give out. You need to restore your body. You need to give yourself really all the things and benefits you can by a good diet, exercise, sleep, meditation. Well, you don’t have to have meditation. You have to have some way of taking care of your insides. By doing that, you can have a strong you, a better you.
The reason do these videos is to help you, to give you some self-help, give you some guidance. That’s why I think we can all improve in what we do. A major part of that is sleep. I mean, they talk about it, have done studies. If you don’t get enough sleep, your concentration is not like it is, your focus is not as good. If you really have a lack of sleep, it’s almost like being drunk. Really, that’s how much we need to have some sleep. For some of us, maybe it’s taking a nap in the afternoon. That’s fine. Whatever it is, know your own body. If you don’t get enough sleep, after time, that voice will start to get really tired and it’s really a big pitfall for your voice.
